Climbing Gear and Food
Equipment
Each participant in Climb for Clean Air must have every item listed on the equipment page of the RMI website.
The following mandatory items are graciously being provided by Whittaker's Mountaineering: helmet, avalanche receiver, and harness. You will be able to pick up these items at your climb orientation in the rental shop. You will need to give them a credit card number just to make sure the items are returned.
For both the climb and training hikes, Whittaker's will give you a 30% discount on any items you may need to rent.
Food
You will need to provide your own food for the summit climb. RMI sells pre-packaged meals in their shop located right at the Rainier Basecamp that you can purchase any time on Day 1 or 2 of your climb if you choose not to bring from home. We will discuss this topic more at our monthly meetings.
