Fundraising Letter #2
This July, I will attempt to summit 14,410' Mt. Rainier in memory of my dad, who passed away last June from complications resulting from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD), a lung disease similar to emphysema.
While the climb itself should be a lot of fun, there will be a very serious component to this mission. In order to have the opportunity to climb Mt. Rainier with world-famous mountaineer Lou Whittaker and his team of guides from Rainier Mountaineering, Inc., I need to raise at least $3500 to support the efforts of the American Lung Association® in Washington. In short, I need your help.
The efforts of the American Lung Association® in Washington to save lives by improving lung health and preventing and curing lung disease are much more important than my effort to train and prepare for this task. Please honor the memory of my dad by sponsoring my climb with your support.
Your tax-deductible contribution can be made by cash, check, or credit card. Checks should be made out to "American Lung Association® in Washington". For credit/debit card payment, please use the enclosed form. I am happy to provide an official receipt if you so desire.
Please mail your contributions to me at (insert your address) and I will forward them to the Seattle office of the American Lung Association.
Thank you,
