As you begin your fundraising endeavors, you should be aware that some companies match gifts to non-profit organizations. Under this mutually beneficial arrangement, an employer matches employee donations, sometimes doubling or tripling a gift.

If you collect sponsorship money from someone who works for a matching gift company, ask your sponsor for a matching gift form (available from the Human Resources or Community Relations office). Turn this form in with your sponsor sheet and your sponsor's check and watch your pledges double. Please note that some companies, for example Microsoft, have the donor submit the matching gift form directly to the company's matching gift processing department. Usually, the employee will received a message from the company indicating that the gift has been authorized. If you turn in the authorization message along with the donations you've collected, we will credit your fundraising account.
